Đỗ Minh Tuấn is a Vietnamese poet and director. He is a member of the Vietnam Writers' Association and the Vietnamese Cinema Association, and was was a member of the Executive Committee during the third term of the association. He is the Director of the Nhân đạo Film Studio, part of the Vietnamese Red Cross. During the filmmaking career of director Đỗ Minh Tuấn, he has made 5 feature films that have attended international film festivals and been licensed by 15 countries to be screened in theaters and released on disc. "Ngọn đèn trong mơ," "Hoa của trời" and "Vua bãi rác" were purchased and archived by Japan's Fukuoka Film Institute. "Vua bãi rác" becomes the first Vietnamese entry for consideration for the Academy's Award for Best International Feature Film. The film was also purchased by film studios in North America and Canada. "Dịch cười," "Vua bãi rác" and "Ký ức Điện Biên" were honored at the 18th Singapore International Film Festival in a program dedicated to the director. Besides filmmaking, Đỗ Minh Tuấn is the founder of the Hoa Sen (Lotus) Water Puppet Company. He served as the Visual Director during the 1000th anniversary of Thăng Long (Hanoi today), held at Mỹ Đình National Stadium. He has held exhibitions of his personal paintings, in Paris in 1994 and in Singapore in 2008.
