Saw Teong Hin

A multiple award-winning producer, writer and director for film, television and theatre, Teong Hin co-wrote and directed, "Puteri Gunung Ledang"; the first Malaysian film invited to the Venice International Film Festival, and submitted for Academy Awards. Given his wide-ranging interests, he went from historical epic to romantic comedy, musical, sports and political films as well as the first Penang Hokkien feature film, "You Mean The World To Me". For theatre, Teong Hin co-wrote the book for "Puteri Gunung Ledang – The Musical". He staged site-specific shows for George Town Festival: "Emily of Emerald Hill", "Silat" and "You Mean The World To Me". And the musical, “Chow Kit Road! Chow Kit Road!”, at the Istana Budaya,. Teong Hin directed limited series "Tangkal Besi" and the web series “Inikah Cinta” and produced "Tastemakers". He was the creative director for the 29th SEA Games & 9th ASEAN Para Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
